About Examination Cell

Teaching and evaluation are the two sides of a coin. Examination cell plays a key role in evaluation part. The Examination Cell (Exam Cell) in MRKIT was headed by the Chief Superintendent of Examinations (Principal) with supporting staff. The Prime responsibility of Examination Cell is conducting all Examinations (Both Internal and External Exams) in a fair and systematic manner under the directions of the controller of Examination, Anna University, Chennai, and the zonal coordinator, Zone xx1, University College of Engineering -Villupram.

Objective

To conduct Internal Assessment and end semester theory and practical Examinations as per University notifications and ordinance.

 Functions of Examination Cell

  1. Circular, Guideline, Office Order, Notification received if any by the College are processed in the Examination cell, reply thereof prepared and after getting Principal’s signature dispatched to the University.
  2. The Examination cell organizes and conducts the Anna University End Semester Examinations (UG Programs) twice per year.
  3. Verifying and maintaining the students’ academic credential records in confidentially.
  4. Making necessary arrangements for the university theory and practical examinations and collecting the examination fees from the student.
  5. Displaying the university results and creating results analysis.
  6. Assisting students in clarifying their academic and exam-related queries.
  7. Distributing students their Grade Sheets, Provisionals and Degree certificates.
  8. Collaboration with the activities of the Zonal office.
  9. Keeping track of the costs associated with holding the theoretical and practical examinations and reporting them to the University verification and payment.

Internal Theory and Practical Exams

  1. Conducting internal examinations for the students of various UG& PG- programmes.
  2. Preparation of exam schedule, hall allocation and seating arrangements for internal examinations.
  3. Collecting the question papers from the departments, printing, and disseminating for internal examination.
  4. Handling the answers scripts, mark entry portal and result analysis.
  5. Displaying the results and creating results analysis.
  6. Assisting students in clarifying their academic and exam-related queries.
  7. Sending of internal assessment result to parents.

Grievances Related to Internal Assessment Examination

  1. If a student is not able to appear for internal examination due to medical or any genuine reason examination is conducted for that student as per norms, provided that he/she submits letter with required documents to the Head of the Department & HOI.
  2. After preparing the assessments report it is shown to the students, if any grievances are there it can be resolved immediately and submitted by the concerned faculty to the department
  3. If any student scores less marks and wants to improve in that subject, he/she can appear for the improvement examination / submitting the assignment for
  4. The grievances of the students with reference to assessment are made clear by showing his / her performance in the answer
  5. The answer sheet of such student is assessed by the faculty once again in the presence of the student. Any corrections in the total of marks or assessment of answer books as identified by students are immediately done by the faculty
  6. Any student who is not satisfied with the assessment and award of marks may approach the concern HOD who can intervene and seek opinion of another course
  7. The Institute follows open evaluation system where the student performance is informed to the parents through progress report .
  8. After taking necessary steps, student’s grievances will be resolved.
  9. The process is completely transparent.

 

Grievances Related to End Semester University Examination

 

  1. The grievances related to problem in submission of examination forms and queries related to mistakes in hall tickets and mark sheets regarding name, course name, and programme name are resolved promptly by the COE by communicating with
  2. Any grievances related to university question paper like out of syllabus, repeated questions, improper split of marks, marks missed, wrong question number during semester exams are addressed to the principal, after making an analysis of day by day university question papers by the subject handling faculties with Department Head in turn he proceeds the same to the university
  3. Review on the question papers are made by faculties to find out the percentage of toughness in the question paper and the feedback is given to the department
  4. University decision or information after resolving the grievances is intimated immediately to the concerned departments, once it is obtained through the principal. It is also conveyed to the students through class counsellors and subject handling faculties.
  5. With reference to University Examination result, if the student scores Low grade than expected, he/she can apply for revaluation of his/her answer script after paying prescribed
  6. University provides the photocopy of answer sheets to students regarding any grievances with reference to
  7. Student can apply for revaluation if he/she feels the evaluation is not correct.
  8. Further if student has grievances with revaluation, after consulting with the subject handling faculty and Department HOD challenge revaluation can also be applied by the students as the last re-evaluation
